Faculty, are you planning to apply for a Graduate Research Consultant for your spring, Maymester, or summer course? The deadline for Spring 2015 GRC courses is December 5. The deadline for Summer 2015 courses is January 27.

Undergraduate students, are you planning to apply for a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship? The deadline is February 26.


Other News, Events and Opportunities

The McNair Scholars Program is hosting several information sessions. McNair Scholars are either first-generation college students with financial need, or members of a group traditionally underrepresented in graduate education and have demonstrated strong academic potential. The program is designed to prepare students for graduate school. Get more information here.

Ideas for Action Competition: Has your research produced potential solution for a social problem? Consider the Ideas for Action Competition, the objective of which is to propose innovative ideas about financing the Post-2015 development agenda. Visit the website for more information. Deadline: December 22, 2014.

The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation is accepting applications for a paid summer research internship. The deadline is January 5, 2015 at noon.

Are you interested in conducting research with NASA? Read more here about research internship opportunities. The deadline for spring opportunities is November 9; the deadline for summer opportunities is March 1.

The Frances Ferris Hall Fund at the Center for the Study of the American South supports research by UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduates on women in the American South. Up to two awards of $500 each will be made in the spring for use in the subsequent fiscal year (includes the summer as well as fall and spring semesters). The deadline is March 15, 2015.

Pursuit: The Journal of Undergraduate Research at the University of Tennessee is accepting submissions for its sixth volume, to be published April 2015.

Moore Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program (MURAP): Are you looking for a summer internship that will help prepare you for graduate school in the humanities, social sciences or fine arts? Are you willing to devote yourself full-time to that goal during ten weeks this coming summer? Are you a sophomore or junior and a permanent resident or citizen of the US?  If you answered yes to all these questions, you qualify to apply to our program. The applications for our summer 2015 program (May 24-July 30, 2015) will be available on our website beginning on November 3, 2014. The deadline for submissions is February 6, 2015. There will be two information sessions, so plan to come to one of them: Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 7PM-8PM and Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 7PM-8PM.  Location: Sonja Haynes Stone Center, Suite 305. Interested students are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.
