Undergraduate Research in the Humanities

Do you want to learn more about undergraduate research and the opportunities and resources available for you? Come hear from faculty members, student researchers, and OUR staff about their experiences, advice and guidance. We’ll have lots of time for questions and discussion. Here is an article about Katie Yelton's 2015 SURF project. She created an ethnographic film entitled "Mill Mamas," which focuses on women mill workers in Rutherford County.

Are you an undergraduate researcher working on a project related to digital or public humanities? The Undergraduate Network for Research in the Humanities (UNRH) invites project proposals for its inaugural conference which will be held November 6-8 conference at Davidson College. Deadline to submit proposals: September 20, 2015.

Sophomores: you can apply for a George Barthalmus Undergraduate Research Award. The deadline is October 16, 2015.

Abstract submission is open for the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium. The deadline to submit your abstract is October 16, 2015.
