The annual Celebration of Undergraduate Research is Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 1:00-3:15 p.m., followed by an award and recognition ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Check out the searchable program to see which posters and panel discussions interest you. Many of the presentations will be organized by theme, including Health & Well-Being; Diversity & Equity; Environment; Fine Arts; Education; and The US and Foreign Relations. Join us and see the wide range of impactful research Carolina undergrads have produced.

Are you registered for a research-intensive course this summer? The deadline to apply for the Summer Award for Research-Intensive Courses is April 3.

Congratulations to 2013 SURF recipient and 2015 SURF Peer Writing Advisor Matthew Powers, whose paper "Inhibition of Cell Differentiation in Bacillus subtilis by Pseudomonas protegens" was recently published in the Journal of Bacteriology.

Other News, Events and Opportunities

Here's a story about the second annual undergraduate research conference in the department of African, African American and Diaspora Studies.

The deadline to apply for the 2015 B&O Railroad Museum Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program is April 10, 2015. There are several fellowships available related to history and railroad studies.

The Center for the Study of the American South offers the Sounds of the South Award, a $1,000 undergraduate research award given once a year to a UNC-Chapel Hill student wishing to record and work with musicians within any genre of southern music during the summer. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2015.
