OUR News

Check out our Fall Events Schedule.

Faculty: do you have an NSF Grant? Are you interested in applying for funding through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program? The deadline is the fourth Wednesday in August (August 26, 2015).

UNC is hosting its first Maker-in-Residence (MIR) series, a program to enable undergraduate students to participate in design-build projects under the guidance of expert makers skilled in a particular technology or craft. Each of the residencies will culminate in a capstone event that will share the project with a larger audience. The program is intended to foster interdisciplinary student collaboration and provide students with the opportunity to learn and apply the hands-on skills promoted by the Maker culture. The Maker should choose a project which can inspire and benefit the undergraduate student body while providing a coherent learning experience for the students directly involved in its construction and execution. Deadline: August 21, 2015.

The deadline to apply for the Postdoctoral Scholar Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduates is September 15, 2015.

There is a new resource for undergraduate research mentoring. Learn from or contribute to it.

Students, check out research opportunities in our Database of Research Opportunities. You can also consult with an OUR Ambassador or Liaison for advice and guidance.
