Undergraduate Research in the Humanities

Undergraduate Research in the Social Sciences

Other News, Events and Opportunities

Has your undergraduate research focused on solving problems? You might be interested in the UNC Public Administration Leadership (PAL) Challenge. The event is a case study competition where teams of UNC undergraduate students present solutions to a real public service issue to local leaders and practitioners, and compete for a $1,000 cash prize and leadership award. Learn more at the Information Session on Monday, October 12, 2015, 7:00-8:00 PM, Student Union 3102.

Sophomores: you can apply for a George Barthalmus Undergraduate Research Award. The deadline is October 16, 2015.

Want your students to use data and statistics but think it's too complicated? This workshop will present a variety of tools and resources from very simple to more complex that will have them using data right away. Hosted by the Librarian for Numeric Data Services & Data Management in Davis Library and the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science

Here is a call for papers for the Perspectives on Undergraduate Research and Mentoring (PURM) Fall 2016 special issue on Mentoring Undergraduate Research in the Professional Disciplines. Educators and students are invited to submit papers that explore the unique challenges and experiences of mentoring undergraduate research in these professional fields. Deadline for submission: February 1, 2016.

Abstract submission is open for the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium. The deadline to submit your abstract is October 16, 2015.
