Currently, there exist very few chlorination reactions that are site-selective due to the indiscriminate reactivity of chlorine radical. Hereby, we demonstrate site-selective C-H chlorination using a chloroamide as the chlorine source, which functions through a radical mechanism but bypasses the formation of indiscriminate free-radical chlorine.
