Biobehavioral Addiction Research Lab

The Biobehavioral Addiction Research Lab (BARLab) in the UNC School of Medicine is accepting applications for volunteer positions beginning in Summer 2023. Volunteers will gain experience assisting on research studies examining risk factors and treatments for addiction. A primary role of research volunteers during the Summer 2023 term will be to assist with participant recruitment, scheduling and experimental procedures for two randomized trials examining a new medication for substance use disorder. Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 12 months of involvement in the lab (i.e., Summer 2023 through Spring 2024) and to maintain a schedule of 6-8 hours per week.
