Fusion 360 / 3D design position (Custom headset design)
The Pegard LAB (Applied Physical Sciences) is recruiting an undergraduate student to build an initial prototype for a portable biometric monitor. The student’s primary responsibility will be to design a VR headset, with mounts for custom sensors. Thus, candidates with a background in 3D design software (Fusion 360in particular) are preferred. The position is ideal for students willing to jump into a fast-paced project with plenty of hands-on engineering experience in a highly collaborative research environment.
The project can be tailored to be suitable as a research-for-credit project, or as a paid internship, or even as a work-study position in the Pegard lab.
The project is open immediately and welcomes candidates who can dedicate a minimum 10h a week on the project with weekly progress reports.
If interested, please email Nicolas Pegard at pegard@unc.edu and provide a CV/resume, a summary of your relevant skills and interests, and your weekly availability.
