Research Assistant in Rare Diseases
Research assistant position (paid) available in a multi-disciplinary laboratory studying the pathogenesis and treatment of rare genetic lung diseases, including cystic fibrosis (CF) and primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). Depending on experience, position may involve general laboratory support, culture of human and mouse airway cells, and/or maintaining mouse colonies. Preferred candidate will have completed a minimum of 1-2 years of science courses with laboratory experience. Successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn a variety of basic and advanced laboratory techniques, and likely develop an independent research project. The position is ideal for candidates considering graduate or medical school, and may continue part-time during the school year.
