Research Assistant in Speech & Hearing Sciences
The Auditory Language Learning (ALLears) Laboratory at UNC-CH is looking for undergraduate students interested in participating in a research experience for the 2023- 2024 academic year. Current research efforts are focused on contributing to both basic models of the speech perception mechanism and clinical recommendations for optimizing spoken language outcomes for individuals with hearing loss.
Students do not need to have previous research experience to get involved and students from underrepresented backgrounds are particularly encouraged to reach out. Participating in research is a great learning opportunity for students targeting future careers as clinicians in the speech and hearing sciences (e.g., speech-language pathologists; audiologists) and psychological sciences to understand how research informs clinical practice. Some students develop their own research projects which are presented at national conferences and/or published in journals.
