Student Researcher in Biochemistry and Biophysics: Mouse brain imaging

Post Date
01/22/2022
Description

The project is to develop a novel mouse genetic model for studying the connections of an important inhibitory neuron in the brain, and the effects of cannabinoids (marijuana) derivatives on the connections using brain slice cultures. The student will work with the PI and postdoctoral fellow Justin Sperringer to perform immunostaining of mouse brain sections and confocal microscopy imaging of CCK interneurons. Brain slices will be cultured and treated with endocannabinoids and cannabinoid derivatives, then immunostained for synapses. Synapses will be visualized by fluroescence microscopy.  No experimence needed.
