This presentation will focus on my time in North Mississippi, recording musicians in the summer of 2010. Hill Country blues is a specific sub-genre of blues, rooted in family traditions and shaped by a distinct geography. In my research I recorded over 25 artists, and became embedded in the musical community, which I have continued to work with extensively. I will describe my research and my experiences, and how my expectations changed, as well as playing audio samples of my recordings.
