02/20/2024

On February 23 at 5pm, PhD student Olivia Dotson will be discussing her research at the University of Washington. Co-hosted by the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Women Engineers, this discussion is part of the NSBE’s Black History Month events. Attendees will learn more about how to overcome obstacles in the STEM field and the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in engineering. The panel will be held virtually. For more information and to sign up, visit the event page on HeelLife.

The NSBE’s next panel discussion features Lauren Smith, a PhD student at the University of Maryland, and it will be held virtually on February 27 at 5pm. Attendees will learn more about the power of mentorship in diverse communities, and they will continue to learn more about DEI in engineering and STEM fields. For more information and to sign up, visit the event page on HeelLife.

Undergraduate students interested in DEI within STEM, advice on how to navigate the academy, and an interest in engineering are encouraged to attend either or both panels.
