Research assistant — A History of Prague
I am looking for someone to provide research help with my book manuscript, which Harvard University Press will publish as a trade book in 2021. Specifically, I would ask the research assistant to 1) track down historical maps of the city as well as other artwork and illustrations; 2) research and download historical newspaper articles related to one of my chapters; 3) do primary and secondary source research as I revise and fact-check the manuscript; and 4) conduct preliminary brainstorming about online/social media compliments to the book. I would like to begin research on the maps, in particular in January. Otherwise my schedule and the number of hours that the research assistant can contribute is flexible. The position is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in Central Europe, urban studies, and nationalism. It is also an opportunity to witness first-hand how a manuscript becomes a book while learning a bit about the publishing world. I will, of course, thank the assistant in the acknowledgements.
