Undergraduate Research Assistant
Dr. Sandra Soto of UNC’s School of Nursing is looking for an outgoing individual to help with her NIH (National Institutes of Health) funded project. This research study is focused on developing a physical activity intervention for Latinos with osteoarthritis to reduce health disparities. The job description is as follows:
o Recruit Latinos into the study (in person & via phone)
o Screen participants for study eligibility
o Enroll participants and obtain informed consent
o Collect survey data
o Develop additional research skills
In this position, students will be able to:
o Flexible work schedule (5-15 hrs/wk) with more hours in January/February and fewer hours in the rest of the semester
o Receive human subjects protection training
o Learn how to use REDCap software
Eligibility
– Bilingual with strong speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish
– MUST have an outgoing personality!
– No prior research experience necessary
– UNC undergraduate student
The duration position is January – May 2022 and students will be compensated at $12/hr
