Constatino is an immigrant from Guatemala that works in North Carolina's construction industry. Many Latinos like Constatino, currently work in the construction industry and have navigated through the hierarchy of the construction industry in order to achieve social mobility. Immigrant workers construct their own language as a training device in order to achieve social mobility and expedite construction projects in order to satiate "el patron". By closely examining fifty qualitative interviews across North Carolina, we can identify the language that is devised among Latinos that work in the construction industry.
