Biostatistics Research Assistant

Post Date

Description

My name is Leo Li, and I am a Ph.D. student working in Dr. Jianwen Cai’s research group in the department of biostatistics. We are seeking 1 (or maybe 2) undergraduate research assistant starting in the spring semester of 2023. Specifically, the project is related to statistical method development and programming in survival analysis.

We are looking for someone who:
1. have working knowledge in R programming.
2. have taken courses in multivariate calculus and linear algebra.
3. are interested in survival analysis.

Since this project may take 1-2 years to complete, a biostatistics or statistics major (junior or sophomore) will be especially suited for this opportunity. If things work out well, this project may be turned into an honors thesis project in the biostatistics department during the senior year. The undergraduate RA will be primarily working with me, but the progress of the project will be under the supervision of Dr. Cai.

If you are interested, please feel free to reach out to me via email at haolin@live.unc.edu with a copy of your resumes and UNC internal transcripts. I will be happy to talk with interested motivated candidates about the scope of the work, etc.
