Description

We are seeking volunteers that are interested in a clinical exposure to behaviors in children consistent with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  This role gives students the opportunity to learn about the phenotypic presentation of neurodevelopmental disorders.  Continued work on the project will allow students to cultivate relationships with Licensed Clinical Psychologists prepared to offer guidance and advice to those interested in clinical research.

Volunteers will be trained on the Brief Observation of Social Communication Change (BOSCC); a 15-item measure aimed at quantifying subtle changes in social communication skills.  The BOSCC is coded from a videotaped observation of a child during a naturalistic social/play interaction.  After successful training, students will implement the BOSCC on video recordings.  Volunteers are expected to dedicate at least 10 hours a week.
