Description

For this project, the student would have the opportunity to develop their data collection skills as well as to see how a research project is developed in political science. The student would be expected conduct research on how long political parties have existed in electoral authoritarian regimes. The student would code how long different political parties have existed and — when applicable — governed in countries around the world. The student would also help us build a worldwide database of national elections (presidential and legislative). As the project develops, the student would have the opportunity to continue to serve as a Research Assistant and to help with further data collection efforts. We will train applicants in data management skills. We encourage applicants with some statistical background to apply. We would like a resume as well as an application letter that discusses the student’s interest and relevant qualifications.
