Research Assistant: Development Social Neuroscience Lab

Post Date
03/08/2021
Description

Project NeuroTeen is a longitudinal study examining the important role of peers and parents on neurobiological development during adolescence. We will be following 150 middle/high school students across 5 years. This study is currently beginning it’s fifth year now and is particularly interested in looking at adolescent brain development, social relationships, health risk behaviors, and teen technology/social media use within an emerging center on technology. Research assistants help with data management, participant recruitment and retention, as well as run participants (mostly virtually) for our study. They also attend weekly RA meetings to learn about professional development and to hear presentations for other lab members.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning more about psychology or neuroscience research and no previous research experience is needed! We welcome and encourage womxn, minorities, people with disabilities, and veterans to apply. We ask for an 8 hour a week commitment from each RA based on their own availability and schedule.

Interested students should complete our Undergraduate Research Assistant Application (https://dsnlab.web.unc.edu/join-the-dsnlab) and submit the application along with their resume to dsnl.unc@gmail.com.
